David Streather
Chief Operating Officer
David is a seasoned Chief Operating Officer with over 40 years of experience in the energy industry, specialising in power generation, battery technologies and sustainable energy solutions. With a background in the design and development of off-grid systems, David has been integral to pioneering innovations such as the first sealed battery solution while at Chloride. His extensive knowledge spans all battery chemistries and energy storage solutions.
David’s career has also been defined by his leadership in major power projects. As a project leader at ABB, he headed teams responsible for building Combined Cycle Power Stations, including notable projects such as the Hazira Power Station in India, Senoko Power Station in Singapore and the Lumut Power Station extensions in Malaysia. His experience managing complex, multi-national projects has been a key asset in his current role overseeing the development and delivery of 1000MW of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
David’s expertise is further enhanced by completing a residential course on contract law at Harvard, which has proven invaluable in navigating the current market space of BESS and energy contracts. His deep understanding of both technical and legal aspects of the energy industry allows him to successfully lead projects while mitigating risks and ensuring operational success.
Outside of his professional life, David is an active sportsman, still playing cricket locally for Fawley and representing Hampshire Seniors. He also played cricket internationally for Singapore during his time abroad. In his spare time, David is restoring an old Mini, a project he humorously predicts will be completed by his children before him. He is also dedicated to supporting his children in their own sporting endeavours, fostering their growth in teamwork and sportsmanship.
Elaine Creter
Chief Financial Officer
Elaine is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer with over a decade of experience in financial management, corporate restructuring and strategic development within the battery storage and energy sectors. As CFO of Fig Power, she oversees financial reporting & governance, forecasting and cash management, while cultivating relationships with key buyers and investors. Her responsibilities include structuring project rights and assets into SPVs, producing investor materials and financial forecasts for fundraising, managing due diligence processes and coordinating legal agreements for joint ventures.
Elaine's expertise extends to financial reporting for joint venture developments, implementation of robust accounting and CRM systems and delivering detailed finance presentations to the Board. With a proven track record of streamlining processes and driving informed decision-making, she has been instrumental in optimising financial operations to support organisational growth.
Elaine combines strategic financial insight with a deep understanding of the construction, development and energy sectors, making her a pivotal leader in the rapidly evolving battery storage market.
Elaine is passionate about staying active and spends her free time enjoying CrossFit, boxing, netball and walks with her two lively Sprocker Spaniels. She also loves connecting with family and friends and has a keen enthusiasm for attending live sporting events.
David Thomas
Technical Director
David provides technical support across project development, market and policy changes on Fig Powers portfolio of projects. Liaising with all stakeholders, David, leads projects through from origination to successful completion.
David has over a decade of experience developing a range of zero carbon technologies (solar, wind, hydro, AD and SMR) and energy storage projects. These include CAES, LAES, Flow, thermal and chemical storage technologies. His experience also includes regulatory, policy and market entry requirements, along with business modelling and future market opportunities for national and international investors.
In addition, David has chaired and presented at industry events in US, Brazil, Europe and China’s first energy storage conference in 2018. Including UK events hosted by the Electricity Storage Network, HSE, Solar and Storage. Being at the cutting edge of combining technology development, regulatory and policy to find the solutions that help to tackle climate change are important motivations for David. Working across a variety of stakeholders to ensure that key milestones are met, provides an ongoing opportunity to meet and work with like minded colleagues.
David runs a voluntary Judo club that offers sessions to beginners through to Olympic athletes. When he’s not coaching, he spends as much time as possible outdoors, whether going for a gentle walk or completing in ultra hikes.
Brian Devlin
Regional Director, Scotland
Based in Scotland, Brian is our Regional Director for Scotland has over 35 years' experience of working in local government and the private sector including director-level roles with Glasgow City Council and Stirling Council. He has led on a number of major transformational and infrastructure projects including a £200m energy from waste scheme in Glasgow and the roll-out of the first EV charging points across Glasgow in partnership with the Scottish Government.
Brian was also the chair of the transport programme board and sustainability lead for the 2014 Commonwealth Games helping not only “deliver the best ever games “ but also a lasting positive legacy for Scotland. Working with all stakeholders, Brian is developing a number of battery energy storage sites for us across Scotland, leading the feasibility studies, legal process, planning applications and advising on the public consultation process.
Brian had the honour of being invited to join Scotland's 2020 Climate Group, chaired by Dame Susan Rice, which stimulates collaboration between industry, government and society to help Scotland reduce carbon emissions while growing a sustainable economy. Brian has been involved in climate change, sustainability and environmental challenges for over 25 years and simply wants to help make the world a better place for all future generations.
Brian is a keen racket sports player and has taken up the challenge to learn pickleball. When he’s not on court he enjoys reading and keeping up with current affairs.
Laura Garcia de Dios
Head of Project Management
Laura García de Dios brings extensive experience in renewable energy, with a strong background in the solar sector and a current focus on utility-scale battery storage. As Head of Project Management, she leads the team, guiding projects from initial feasibility through to Final Investment Decision (FID), ensuring they are technically robust and commercially viable.
Laura oversees the entire project development cycle — from feasibility studies and technical design to procurement and stakeholder coordination. Her hands-on experience as both a project engineer and on-site engineer provides a solid technical foundation, which she combines with effective project management and organisational skills to deliver complex projects efficiently.
She holds a Master’s degree in Project Management and has an engineering background, blending formal academic training with extensive practical experience. She is recognised for her ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and her commitment to advancing high-quality renewable energy projects across the company’s portfolio.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys reading, travelling and spending time outdoors.
Shrutika Sawant
Senior Project Engineer
Shrutika is a Senior Project Engineer, specialising in project management and technical support for battery storage projects. She plays a key role in the coordination of battery storage system (BESS) development projects and efficiently manages the project phases from the initial phase to ready-to-build stage.
Shrutika holds an MSc in Project Management, Natural and Built Environment along with an MSc in Environmental Resources Management. Her experience spans roles in project management and research across various international organisations. Previously, she worked as a graduate renewable energy consultant and gained valuable experience in coordinating battery storage development projects. In her current role, Shrutika oversees planning submission, legal plan preparations and coordination with planners, landowners, DNOs and solicitors across multiple BESS projects in the UK.
Shrutika is passionate about renewable energy and its potential for sustainable development. She enjoys the dynamic nature of her role, where each project offers unique challenges and opportunities to contribute to clean energy solutions. Working closely with experts in the field, she is motivated by the positive impact of battery storage solutions on energy efficiency and grid stability.
Outside of work, Shrutika enjoys reading, cooking, travelling, and trying different cuisines. She loves painting and writing poems, and has a keen interest in traditional art and culture
Alba Vega-Escamilla y Gonzalez
Senior Project Engineer
Alba is a Senior Project Engineer who has spent the past two years in the renewable energy industry.In this time, she has gained valuable experience and developed a strong understanding of the energy market and the advancement of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
In her role, Alba oversees the entire lifecycle of a battery storage project through to the “ready to build” stage. Her responsibilities include coordinating the project’s organisational aspects, managing relationships with key stakeholders, creating technical designs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Alba recently earned her APM Project Management qualification, marking significant progress in her project management skills. This achievement has strengthened her ability to work under pressure and develop effective solutions to a variety of challenges.
Outside of work, Alba loves staying active - whether she’s running marathons or hiking mountains, she’s always up for an adventure.
Elvis Fortes
Management Accountant
Elvis is a versatile and highly motivated finance professional with extensive experience across diverse industries, including consulting, construction, property management, sales, and distribution. With a solid academic foundation, holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Aveiro, Elvis has cultivated expertise in financial reporting, cost analysis, management, and regulatory compliance.
In his current role as Management Accountant, Elvis is responsible for preparing detailed monthly management reports that support strategic business decisions. He works closely with the project team to analyse and monitor costs, ensuring financial accuracy across ongoing developments. Alongside daily finance operations, he collaborates directly with the CFO, contributing to year-end processes and playing an active role in working with external auditors.
Outside of work, Elvis enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, as well as dancing and exploring outdoor activities..
