The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG)

The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) is a FTSE 250-listed investment company with a clear purpose: to generate sustainable returns for shareholders from a diversified portfolio of renewables infrastructure that contributes towards a net zero carbon future. TRIG is invested in a portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects across six markets in Europe with a net operational capacity of 2.3GW. TRIG develops, constructs and operates a portfolio of renewable energy infrastructure that creates value for its shareholders and generates secure, clean electricity that benefits both society and the environment.

The acquisition of Fig Power by TRIG marks a significant step in advancing the UK’s energy storage sector. TRIG, a FTSE 250-listed investment company with a portfolio of wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Europe, acquired Fig Power to bolster its capabilities in distributed energy storage and generation. This strategic partnership underscores TRIG's commitment to driving the energy transition while enhancing its development pipeline and returns for shareholders.

Fig Power, founded in 2022 as a spin-out from Hydrock Consultants with backing from BGF, has quickly established itself as a leader in delivering essential battery storage projects. The acquisition enables Fig Power to scale its development activities and deliver high-performing energy assets, addressing the growing demand for grid flexibility and renewable energy integration.

The leadership team at Fig Power has emphasised the partnership’s potential: “TRIG’s market presence and scale make them an ideal partner. Together, we can transform opportunities into operational assets that contribute to a sustainable energy future.”

This acquisition strengthens TRIG’s role in the renewable energy market while leveraging Fig Power’s expertise to create economic, environmental and social value.
